In-Sync

project overview

In-Sync is a thesis-driven exploration of the relationship between music, emotion, and cognitive performance, expressed through a multi-platform visual design system. The project investigates how auditory experiences—such as rhythm, melody, and tonal tension—can be translated into visual forms that reflect and enhance human focus, mood, and mental engagement.

The design approach draws from principles in neuroscience, auditory perception, and music theory to inform a visual language that mirrors the structure and energy of sound. Through motion, composition, and dynamic systems, In-Sync seeks to make intangible sensory experiences visible, creating a bridge between what we hear and how we feel and think.

Positioning design as both an interpretive and communicative tool, the project aims to deepen awareness of how music influences cognitive states while offering an engaging, immersive experience for users. The result is a cohesive body of work that blends research and design to reframe music as not only something we hear, but something we can see, understand, and interact with.
